Full of virility and adventure, the organic shapes found in nature – cones, fossils, fruits, plants, seeds, shells – are evoked, magnified to an heroic scale. His impressive body of work remains very much alive in Britain and is still susceptible to infinite subtleties and invention.
His huge work, Seed, has recently been installed to critical acclaim at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
