Michael is based on the Surrey/Sussex border and has been working in forestry and woodland management for 20 years.

When not felling timber Michael is working with the wood he fells, producing sculptural seating for private gardens and public spaces.

He is influenced by natural patterns of erosion and flow forms, creating simple organic forms with a sense of movement. All his sculptures are made from local English oak which has been sustainably managed and felled by him.

Michael has been making outdoor seating for Landscape Designer Anthony Paul for the last 8 years including projects at Brighton University, Westonburt Garden Festival and in 2006 the Collect exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum London.
