"A piece of stone, a hundred million years old, worked now, could still be here in another hundred million. It is hard and takes diamonds to cut. I can hurl myself at a piece of stone, full strength with hammer and chisel and nothing happens. I do that a few times and it will accept a small mark. It is strong and it is wild and it is silent." Emily Young

Emily has worked with stone since 1985 and has exhibited with the Fine Art Society, the Ingelby Gallery of Edinburgh and London's Leighton House. A major four-piece installation was completed for the Triangle d'Arche at La Défense, Paris in 2002 and a selection of her 'Angels' are on permanent display in St Paul's Church Yard, London

An extensive exhibition of her work ran at Kew Gardens and she often exhibits at Glyndebourne throughout the Summer.
