Eleanor Long graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 with an MA in ceramics and glass. Since then she has completed many private and public commissions; including pieces for the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and the Royal Geographic Society.

Fused and slumped glass runs like a vein through the large architectural blocks she creates. These can be freestanding or embedded in walls; "People have to trust me to knock huge holes in the walls of their apartment," she says.

In January 2007 she was awarded the prestigious Arts Foundation Fellowship, which has allowed her to work on more experimental pieces rather than to commission.
