Marvell's work is quirky, imaginative and whimsical. It is clearly apparent that he loves what he does and very much enjoys the actual processes involved. He casts many of his bronzes in his home village often with the help of friends. Each surface appearance of his sculptures is different – he patinates them all individually himself.
The slightly absurd and amusing juxtapositions of objects and people lend themselves towards a story which he allows you the viewer to invent for yourself!
