Almuth Tebbenhoff has been using steel to express her perception of space over the past two decades. She describes the sculptures as having the feel of freehand drawings in three dimensional space; describing the perimeters of mass without true volume.

In 2006 a three month residency at Studio Sem in Pietrasanta allowed her to fulfil a yearning to understand the language of solid mass by working in stone. She continues to interpret basic forms in both materials creating elegant marble sculptures with an inner energy and steel forms that have a lightness framed by whimsical lines.
