“This sculptural form references a primitive tribal talisman, ascribed with magical powers. Its playful title suggests not only a devotional object but also someone who is ‘purposeless’. The initial ‘bone’ object hints at one that may have been cast in bronze, with its thin feathered crown and its portable use emphasised by the carved waist band which fits the grip of the holder.”
