Paul Donovan is a ceramic artist whose sculpture celebrate the human figure and its aspirations in joyful activity; capturing the dynamics of movement.

Inspired by the flints strewn over the Wessex landscape, Donovan recreates their fragmentation using form and colour from his studio in Salisbury. His rough-hewn ceramics with their flinty forms aim to remind the viewer of man’s long-working relationship with this material, highlighting their shared vulnerability to the elements of nature.

Donovan’s work has been featured in several publications. He attended the Museum School of Fine Arts, Boston, USA, and was mentored by Althea Wynne, FBSS.
