“I look to the organic for form, colour and texture, exploring the characteristics of plants forms, of the earth, of the universe.”

Exhibiting with the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden for over twenty years, Peter Clarke’s fantastical organic forms never look out of place amongst the dramatic flora of the garden. Working almost exclusively in copper, Clarke exploits the properties of the metal to produce captivating pieces, that often have extra ‘secrets’ to reward those willing to look a little closer. Allowing the copper to weather (sometimes with a little encouragement) extra interest is added with the beautiful verdigris tones, and paired with chunky, natural oak to display the works adds a timeless quality to the pieces.
